Hello everyone and welcome to this first, of hopefully many, State of Stomps from Bunkazilla. As Founder and Station Manager, I want take some time every month to go through important announcements, what’s going on at Bunkazilla, what to expect, what to excited about, and more. I like to think of it as our way of connecting more with our audiences and shed light on the goings-on at Bunkazilla.
We’re moving to a new broadcast platform
Bunkazilla is stomping towards a new base of audio operations and we’re preparing to move. We’re going to make ourselves at home over on Live365.
From 29th January 2020, Bunkazilla’s programming will be airing through Live365 and can be accessed online or via the Live365 mobile or Alexa app. Don’t worry if you access the station through the website, all links will be updated so you will experience no drop-in service. You will also easily be able to access the stream via the mobile app, load it up and search for Bunkazilla and then hit play. It’s nice, simple, and all in one place.
During this transition phase, there might be some slight disruptions and changes to the Bunkazilla schedule. We hope to have all things comfortably in place by the start of February. I believe this offers greater access to our core UK audience and also introduces Bunkazilla to wider audiences in the US.
We hope this change allows us to bring in more syndicated shows, invite new DJs, work with new show creators to evolve the content of Bunkazilla. We are always looking out for new talent and unique voices so do get in touch if you want to get involved.
Bunkazilla Podcast Network
One of our goals is to make all of our original content accessible in a variety of channels. Podcasts, naturally, is one of these channels we are looking to grow in. I’m pleased to announce that several Bunkazilla original shows will also be released as podcasts across all popular podcast providers.
You can already catch episodes of The Big Stomp and Trivial Titans through podcast platforms, in the coming weeks you can expect to see Reel History, This Door is Locked, Boardgames with Bez, and the Bunkazilla Film Roar appearing as well. We hope to have these shows underway on podcast platforms by the end of February.
Patreon and Merch Coming Soon!
We want to continue to provide great content for monsters of culture to enjoy and consume. But, in order to do this, we do need a little helping hand. If you’ve always wanted to help support Bunkazilla, then you will have opportunities soon!
We are currently looking into getting a Patreon page set up so you can support Bunkazilla at a variety of different tiers. In addition, we’re also setting up to hopefully sell some general Bunkazilla merchandise. Items like t-shirts, badges, etc. Simple things but things to help support Bunkazilla in the long run. We aim to use all money raised through these channels to help keep us stomping and build for the future.
In the meanwhile, there are still ways you can support us right now! If you can spare the cost of a pint a month, supporting us on Ko-Fi is an excellent way to keep our systems going.
Need a roar from us? Get in touch!
If you’re running any special geek or pop culture related events in the not so distant future, we’d love to help spread the word. Get in touch at email@example.com to find out more. We also offer advertising and sponsorship options for commercial enterprises looking to get their brand out there.
If you enjoyed our recent Bunkazilla vs The World show from Hibanacon, you’ll be pleased to hear that we’ll be bringing the event to this year’s Minami Con in Southampton. The Bunka team were victorious at Hibanacon, can they keep their run going? If you’re at the event, come along and find out! Don’t worry if you miss out, we aim to bring you an audio recording from proceedings too!
Our events calendar is a little sparse at the moment but rest assured, Bunkazilla will definitely be having a presence at AmeChibi in August 2020 and, of course, Hibanacon 2020 this year with live shows and more. Watch this space, I hope to share more information soon with audiences.
That’s just about it for this State of Stomp, I hope you found it insightful. A big thank you as always to the talented showrunners, content creators and writers getting involved with Bunkazilla. We’ve got plenty of new exciting stuff to come in 2020 so let’s get this year off to a flyer.
Stomp on my fellow monsters of culture!
