Film Roar 22 – Unhinged

Don't cross Russell Crowe. He may be a bit unhinged. Whether that translates well into a movie is anyone's guess.

Hosted by Iain Boulton and Christian R. Allan, the Bunkazilla Film Roar takes a monstrous chunk out of all the movie news and review the very latest movie reviews – with the odd recent release thrown in for good measure. New episodes arrive weekly on the Bunkazilla website and through all good podcasting platforms.

What happens in this episode?

Film Roar makes the leap to Twitch in this debut episode – complete with the odd technical hiccup along the way.

Iain and Christian kick off the show as always with their Cinematic Weeks. Christian’s trio of film choices include Bound, Mullholland Drive and Wes Anderson’s Bottle Rocket. Iain, off the back of enjoying Superman, ventures to see the fabled Richard Donner cut of Superman 2. He also takes in the odd spoof movie with The Kentucky Fried Movie, The Onion Movie (aka News Movie) and dives back into DC animation with Wonder Woman Bloodlines.

In the news, Disney’s decision to release Mulan as a premium add-on to Disney+ is the main topic of discussion. Understandably with the COVID-19 pandemic, studios need to do what will help them recoup money but does show a lack of faith in the movie from Disney? Also, we pay our respects to Sir Alan Parker who has recently passed away. Parker was the director behind films such as Fame and Evita.

A doubleheader of reviews this episode see the cinematic duo first review Hugh Jackman’s Emmy nominated comedy-drama, Bad Education. Then it’s our first trip to the cinema in a long time to see the Russell Crowe thriller, Unhinged. Is it the best film to restart our cinema-going adventures?
